What is Pilates?
Pilates is a comprehensive physical exercise method that focuses on strengthening the core muscles of the body, improving flexibility and body balance. This practice emphasizes the harmony and balance of the body and mind.
The origin of Pilates can be traced back to Germany in the early 20th century and was founded by Joseph Pilates. He himself was influenced by a variety of physical exercise methods, including gymnastics, boxing and yoga. He originally designed this system to promote injury recovery and improve physical function. Pilates was originally called "Contrology", which emphasizes the importance of using consciousness to control muscles.
Joseph Pilates used this method to help war wounded during World War I, and moved to the United States after the war to popularize it. In the United States, the Pilates method is popular among dancers and actors because it can effectively improve the flexibility and strength of the body while reducing the risk of injury.
Over time, Pilates has gradually developed from a training method specifically for rehabilitation to a widely popular fitness method. It is not only accepted by the general public, but also used by professional athletes as a means of auxiliary training. The Pilates method has also been continuously developed and improved with practical experience and new scientific research results. Today, Pilates has become a widely recognized fitness method worldwide, which can promote physical health, enhance physical and mental balance and improve the quality of life.
Here are some new tips for Pilates core beds:
- Make sure all springs are hung in place: Before each class, make sure all springs are hung in place, which will be safer.
- Adjust the height of the footrest: The footrest can be adjusted to different heights, and different heights can be selected according to the different heights and different movements of members.
- Correct use of ropes: The rope has two rope loops, the small one is the glove and the large one is the foot loop. If the rope loops are not the same length, you can put it back on the shoulder support, and then tighten the ropes on both sides.
- Correct bed: You can first sit on one side of the bed board, hold the shoulder support with the opposite hand, pass the other hand through the armpit, put the shoulder against the shoulder support, and then turn your body over and lie on the board.
In order to make the exercise more comfortable and safe and to find a better sense of force, it is recommended to wear Pilates five-finger socks when practicing on the Pilates bed.
